Let me ask you this question, Say you are quoting on a job and there are 2 other contractors also quoting on the same job.
All the quotes are almost the same amount. What have you done to make yourself stand out from the others?
What makes you a better choice?
Did you turn up on time? Did you look clean and tidy? Did you supply a small portfolio of your work? Did you ask the right questions to make sure you understood the customer’s requirements? Did you hand-deliver the customer’s quote?
If you were the customer, would you pick yourself over the others? If not, What do you need to do next time to make you stand out in a good way?
Get out there and sell yourself.
